Private tour with driver
Two UNESCO sites in one day: the sea charm of Amalfi and the silent grandeur of Paestum's Greek temples, between coast and Campanian plains.
from€415per vehicle
“Amalfi & Paestum Tour” is a private tour with driver and takes about 9½ h. It costs from €415 per vehicle, not per person, in a sedan for up to 3 people, with driver, fuel, tolls and parking included; the exact price depends on start, finish and date. Stops and visiting time: Amalfi (1 h 30) and Paestum archaeological park (2 h). Entrance tickets are not included: about €12 per person in total. You walk about 3 km over the day (low physical effort). When to go? Spring and autumn. The Paestum temples take a low, golden light in late afternoon, so the natural order is the coast in the morning and the temples later.
Pickup is at the time and meeting point you choose when booking. Your driver will welcome you with a name sign and guide you through one of the most complete cultural days in Campania. The tour is private: only your group is on board.
Amalfi — The Ancient Maritime Republic
The day begins in Amalfi, the historic heart of the coast and for centuries one of the most powerful maritime republics in the Mediterranean. Its Cathedral of Saint Andrew, an Arab-Norman architectural masterpiece with the suggestive Cloister of Paradise, is the first unmissable stop. Around it, the paved streets come alive with shops scented with limoncello, handmade Amalfi paper workshops and stores selling local specialties.
Free time to wander through medieval arcades, sit in the square with a coffee or granita, and let the slow, authentic rhythm of this village carry you.
Paestum — The Greek Temples of Magna Graecia
Leaving the coast, you enter the Sele plain toward Paestum, founded by Greek colonists in the 6th century BC and today a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Three Doric temples among the best preserved in the world rise on the plain in an almost unreal silence: the Basilica, the Temple of Neptune and the Temple of Ceres — millennial structures that still convey a unique visual power.
A stop at the National Archaeological Museum rounds out the visit with frescoes, pottery and the famous Tomb of the Diver, one of the oldest painted slabs of Magna Graecia. A perfect contrast to the morning stop: from medieval sea to ancient Greek stone.
Return is scheduled for the late afternoon.
The price is per vehicle, not per person, and depends on where you start, where you finish and the date: work it out in the booking box.
Included in the price: driver, fuel, tolls and parking.

The centre is free; the Cloister of Paradise beside the cathedral charges a few euros. One ticket covers the temple area and the archaeological museum, which face each other.

3 km · Low physical effort — Amalfi is flat apart from the cathedral steps. The temple area is entirely level, on grass and gravel, with no shade: a hat is needed in summer.
Spring and autumn. The Paestum temples take a low, golden light in late afternoon, so the natural order is the coast in the morning and the temples later.
Amalfi is reached by SITA Sud bus from Salerno in about 75 minutes, or by seasonal ferry for around €10. Paestum has a station on the Trenitalia line to Reggio Calabria, 800 metres on foot from the temples, with regional trains from Salerno roughly hourly. The problem is joining the two: there is no direct Amalfi-Paestum link, you backtrack to Salerno and start again.
When it genuinely wins
Taken one at a time, both destinations are easy and cheap by public transport — Paestum by train is genuinely convenient. On the same day, no: the compulsory change at Salerno adds an hour and a half and two connections, and what is a 75-minute drive becomes half a day.
