The journey from Rome to Port of Naples covers about 230 km and takes about 2 hours 45 minutes, mostly on motorway and main roads. It is a comfortable, straightforward leg: you leave when you decide, with no changes and no waiting for connections.
Travelling to Port of Naples, the time you leave matters more than the time you arrive: we suggest departing about 4 hours before your boarding, which covers the drive plus the wait at the terminal. Tell us the boarding time when you book and we work backwards from it — including the morning traffic on this stretch, which is not the same as the afternoon one.
We drop you in front of the right boarding terminal, avoiding the long loop around the port area. For hydrofoils we suggest arriving 30 minutes before departure; for car ferries and cruises, at least an hour.
Naples’ port is where hydrofoils leave for Capri, Ischia and Procida and where cruise ships dock at the Stazione Marittima. It is a large, busy area with quays far apart: knowing which berth to head for saves you crossing it on foot with your suitcases.
